Update 06/23 1410: Some people have informed me that the original embedded Twitter post with the announcement wasn’t loading for them. As such I have replaced it with a screenshot and included a link to the relevant tweet.
There isn’t much else to say about it at the moment, but on June 22nd VIA twitter, TSR announced VIA Twitter that they had Star Frontiers back in hand and that a new edition of the game was in pre-production. The question now is will it be OGL or the mysterious new system that TSR is developing for Into the Giantlands. Only time will tell, but hopefully – as I said with the Transformers announcement – a playtest program will exist.
Also, why I won’t hold my breath, it’d be great if they could get Elmore to come back and do a new cover.
