While not an official announcement by Hasbro – or whoever the publisher will be (I’d say WotC but they didn’t do the MLP RPG) – by a long shot, Eddy Webb – the creator of Pugsmire has said on his twitter that he is one of the writers for the upcoming Transformers roleplaying game. Unfortunately further tweets from Webb do not offer any light on which Generation the game will focus on (my personal bet is either G1 or IDW Prime). However, there was some hints that the timing for the announcement might coincide with Prime Day, which would be a fun way to piggyback on Amazon’s made up holiday.
A little over a year ago I noticed that game-level mini (about 32mm I believe) of G1 designed Transformers were being seen in the wild with no skirmish or war game to go along with them. It was my hope then – and now a reality – that they were a precursor to a Transformers RPG.
I now wait with baited breath for the official announcement, and maybe a playtest document open to the community like 5e had.
