Quick Notes – An observation on VTT gaming and another review!

Last night I had the distinct honor of being able to take part in a wonderful online gaming session run by +John Swan and put together by +peewee rota. It has been a long time since I’ve gamed with adults and even longer since I felt an personal connection to the people I was playing with online.

To anyone who has ever gamed with me online, please do not take that the wrong way. To the guys I gamed with last night … also don’t take that the wrong way. What I do mean is that this was the first time were both I and everyone else had webcams and audio. Being able to see the gamers and the Referee as well as hear everyone made a huge difference. The ability to see and interact with the other gamers through more than my keyboard was amazing and a truly gratifying experience.

I honestly cannot wait until I have another opportunity to be part of such a thing.

Now then, this morning I received an e-mail from Onebookshelf that “The Cartographer’s Guide to the Creatures of Eira” had been reviewed. This marks Genius Loci Games third review. The first two were for “Two-Page Adventures – Under the Horn” and were an awesomely solid 4 out 5.

The review for The Cartographer’s Guide, however, is an astounding 5 out of 5:

27 pages of fae-like (or related) creatures for your Old-School games.
There are some familiar names here (Korrigan, Slaugh, Ragman) but all neat takes on some classic monsters.

Use to use and read and can be dropped into any old-school game.

Can’t wait to try some of these beasties out.
